The Food

Arriving late in the evening, room service was a more appealing option then venturing out to one of the nearby restaurants. The room service menu is diverse with a selection for everyone. A healthy “vitality” menu is a nice addition, as well as a number of Asian foods, western comfort food options and desserts.

A meal of simple grilled chicken with rice and vegetables was delicious, as were the wedges. The steak sandwich was juicy and generous and the dessert menu was very tempting.

Included in many room rates, the buffet breakfast is outstanding. The usual fare of eggs made to order, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns, mushrooms and cereals all made an appearance. Nice surprises included fresh honeycomb at the make your own waffle bar, a DIY juicing station as well as a whole selection of Asian inspired foods: pork buns and congee were favourites.

The X Factor

There is amazing value to be found for rooms at the Swissotel if you plan ahead and book online. The Eat, Park, Shop deals are usually excellent value and include buffet breakfast and valet parking. You might even get lucky and find yourself with a room upgrade if you visit on a night that isn’t busy.
